While you may not associate libraries with great marketing ideas, try this one out:
If you’ve been blogging or sending out a newsletter for any amount of time, you probably have some really great articles and information for your clients. Even if you haven’t, you probably have some good stuff you’ve read elsewhere that would be [...]
Now that you’ve created your first Facebook page (you did, right?), it’s time to think about more ways to utilize Facebook. You have one for yourself as a Realtor®, but as we all know, some people will avoid anything that looks the least bit self-promoting. So you may have Facebook friends that choose not to [...]
This weekend web 2.0 wrap-up will be great news for those of you that are using (or have thought of using) Postlets as an easy and free way to syndicate your listings across the web.
Thanks to Sharon Paxon for her post at Active Rain for the heads-up! She gives the full details on how Postlets [...]
Having a business that brings in Consistent Clients, repeatedly and without regard for the current state of the economy, needs to be based strongly on referrals. I believe that.
But besides your sphere of influence, and past clients, where else can you work on generating referrals?
Don’t forget about the potential of professional referrals.
Referrals coming from someone [...]
Have you created Friend lists in Facebook yet? If not, you should. And even if you have, you may be able to use them even better. Friend lists allow you to target who see's what information from you. You can create business and personal lists, or go further and separate out clients, potential clients, business partners, family, non-business friends. This way, you're not sending business updates to your family who just want to see family pictures, and business contacts don't get inane personal updates...

And though unrelated to real estate marketing per se, I think it’s a great way to increase the connection you’re making with potential clients through your social networking efforts.
She recommends setting up [...]
Marketing in a slow economy can sometimes require an easier touch than usual. More than ever, people do not want to be "sold". They want to feel that they are in complete control of their money, and where and how it's used. This is another reason that developing quality relationships with your database is an effective, long-term marketing plan.
Rather than approaching your clients only when you want them to do something that involves them parting with their money, focus on being a resource. A trusted advisor.
I’m finishing up Tribes by Seth Godin for probably the third time, and wanted to share it with you. It’s a fantastic book about the power of developing and leading a “Tribe”. In essence, that’s what Consistent Clients is all about. Developing your group of followers that trust you, want to hear from you, and [...]
While 2007-2008 were big years for Facebook, and 2008 saw an explosion in Twitter users, I believe 2009 is the year that social media marketing will become a package deal, and real estate agents will realize they need to embrace more than one or two sites. Today’s Weekend Web 2.0 Wrap-up comes from Israel Rothman [...]
Are you using LinkedIn to it's full potential? For a long time, about all you really used LinkedIn for was to place your profile, and maybe make a few connections. However, they've really added quite a few handy new features, and I'm afraid that too many agents aren't taking advantage of them.
