Feeding the Blogosphere with Content to Consistently Connect with Clients

Rogala on RSS — What the Heck is RSS Anyway?

If you’re new to the blog scene, and I know many who are, it’s important to have a basic understanding of RSS.

real estate marketing - rss feedsRSS commonly means really simple syndication. RSS is a piece of code that takes all the articles on one topic, (real estate, for instance), and places them in a simple format for viewing. The RSS feeds are subscriber or opt-in based. People who write articles have to opt-in to the RSS feed to keep up to date on the particular topic of interest as do people who want to display the articles on their site.

A news aggregator is the software that goes and grabs the feeds of your favorite blogs and tosses them to you. News aggregators can be Web Based like bloglines.com or actually on your computer like pluck.com or newsgator.com. You can subscribe to feeds via various means. I personally use FeedBurner. This gives my readers an option to receive notifications directly to their inbox via email when fresh, real estate marketing related, content is posted.
