Nice post, Rich. I've found that it is very beneficial to become a trusted advisor on many more facets than real estate to my most loyal people. I've made many restaurant suggestions in the past year to many different people.
I am in the middle of a credit score consultation with Gary Novell and have been telling my sphere of influence how this has directly benefitted me on my website(www.brianguzman.com)

I've read Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi a few times and it also discusses ways to reach out to people to add value to their overall lifestyle and create a connection with them as opposed to throwing business cards every time you see someone anywhere and everywhere.

I'm also in the middle of Book Yourself Solid which tells you to eliminate the clients that were drain your energy and work with people who give you enthusiam to complete the task beyond their expectations.
