Basically a feed contains the latest updates from a blog or website. Common formats are RSS and Atom. Nearly all feed formats are in an overarching format called XML. That’s why feeds are sometimes referred to as XML. While that might seem a little technical, here are the basics on feeds and what you need to know to understand their importance.
Here’s how feeds work:
1) A blogger, (that’s me), posts new content relevant to real estate.
2) As the blog is updated, the blog platform updates the sites feeds with the latest headlines and posts.
3) The subscribers, news aggregator, which is subscribed to that particular blog, notices there are updates to the feed.
4) The news aggregator downloads the latest headlines and posts and makes them available to read.
5) The subscriber can then view them along with the rest of his or her favorites in a kind of customized newspaper from the aggregator.
This gives people easy access to fresh content regarding industry trends of interest. How could you use feeds to grow your business?
