Real Estate 2.0, Real Estate Bloggers, Social Media Marketing
I decided to throw in an extra post today, to share some interesting information I just found. We’ve talked a lot about the potential of social networking sites. While we haven’t talked much about using social news and social bookmarking sites to improve your site ranking through search optimization, you may have read about it elsewhere.
But I haven’t really mentioned Google. They’ve never really been part of the “social” web scene. Until now. There’s a great post over at Chris Lang’s blog -
Google Reader Adds Friends List, Sharing, Bookmarking and Blog Recommendation Engine -
Google Reader adds a friends list, many social features like bookmarking, RSS feed item sharing, comments on blog posts and a blog recommendation engine based on your friends feeds and what you have in Google Reader
He gets really in-depth on many of the features of Google’s new engine. Google has just launched a new version of Google Reader that lets you connect with “friends”, and will also recommend new blogs to you based on your interests, and the interests of your friends. It will also recommend your blog to other readers that might be interested in it.
There are a lot of current and potential features, so take a look. I think it really has the potential to make your social networking and social bookmarking more accurate and efficient. And it may help you promote your site and connect with people in ways you never thought of.
And, if you currently use Google Reader, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new look.

Google reader is an essential part of my business networking. I use it to share industry news and blog articles that I find relevant and know my contacts will as well. I cannot post “everything” to my blog, but when I’m online and discover great news somewhere, Google Reader allows me to instantly make it viral across my networks. I actually aggregate Google reader through FriendFeed, so items I share go out to around 25 networks and thousands of contacts. Google is about to blow the Social Media networks out of the water in late 2008. I’m going to posting more about what is about to explode on the social front in coming weeks. Thanks for sharing, Rich!

Thanks for stopping by, Erika! And that’s a great tip, to aggregate Reader out to your other presences on the web. Thanks for sharing.
