A common mistake bloggers make is being too technical, or even too wordy (Don’t’ get me wrong, there is a time and place for both long and short copy. That’s a discussion for another day.). Your blog is an extension of you. Of course you want to be professional. At the same time, you want your personality to shine through so you can really connect and build relationships with your readers. These readers are both potential and regular clients. They have subscribed to your blog because they want more of you. Be relevant and succinct so readers are getting information they need in easily digestible chunks.
Simply put, be yourself and the clients will follow. At the same time, make sure your topics are relevant. As a general rule of thumb, don’t blog about personal matters on a business blog unless you tie the experience in with business. Are you keeping it real?
