Make A Referral Week for Real Estate – Have you joined?
This week, March 9th-March 13th, is Make A Referral Week. The idea was created by John Jantsch over at Duct Tape Marketing. All this week at his Duct Tape Marketing blog, he’s hosting guest posts and radio shows by all sorts of people, including Andy Sernovitz, Guy Kawasaki, Pam Slim, Rich Sloan, Anita Campbell, Scott Ginsburg, Michael Port and Jill Konrath. All of them share their tips and tools on how to generate more referrals for your business.
Make a referral. Make a job.
Make enough referrals and you make a job, or two, or 10.
I’m a strong believer in building a business based on referrals. But if you’re going to ask for referrals, you should also be in the habit of giving them out, freely. So take the time this week to make a referral, connect 2 people (businesses, whatever), and help them out.
While you’re at it, why not get in touch with your clients, and let them know, too? Connect them with someone that may need their services, and ask them to do the same for another business owner they know. Pay It Forward. This is good business for you, and for the entire economy.
Stop by Make A Referral Week, and post your referral there, then post it here. I’d love to hear about it.

Hopefully the Make a Referral Week is just the beginning. As an employee of a company that generates a great deal of business from referrals, I know the power of the referral can never be under estimated. Individuals must make and ask for referrals in good and bad times.
I recently recorded a podcast with a commercial real estate client, and she shared her tips for generating referrals. Your readers may find it of interest:
