Make your monthly “touch” easier than ever with email leads

If you’ve been collecting email leads into an autoresponder, what have you been doing with that list? How often do you “touch” them? Is it a systematic part of your monthly marketing, or just a “whenever I remember task”?

Last time we talked about implementing an autoresponder sign-up, and ideas on what to offer people in exchange for their email address.

But what do you do with them after they’ve signed up?

Obviously, there’s the monthly ezine, if you do one. If you only do a print version, you can easily copy and paste one or two articles into your autoresponder, and now you have a monthly “ezine”.

There are lots of other things to do with them, if you get a little creative. Just think of it as another way to “touch” your sphere as part of your monthly marketing strategy.

  • Don’t save your monthly Top Ten Picks list for just new subscribers. Send it to everyone on your list.
  • Being in real estate, you’re likely to learn of new laws, taxes, etc. that will affect your clients. Send them a quick email note with a link or a summary of how it could affect them.
  • Send a broadcast to your whole database welcoming new clients “to the family”, or thanking clients that sent you referrals
  • Provide a list of upcoming community events. Not everyone may know your neighborhood has a fall festival, a holiday home tour, or even where to find the community fireworks show.
  • If you are holding or sponsoring an event, invite your list via email as well. Even if it doesn’t affect your turnout numbers, it will remind your clients that they are more than just a paycheck to you.
  • Seasonal message – summer or winter safety reminders, spring cleaning tips, or fall home maintenance suggestions

Another email tip – most autoresponder companies allow you to create more than one list. So target those lists. Have a “buyer” and a “seller” list. Move a client from the “potential” list to the “client” list once they close, and it will be easy to focus your message even more.

Finally, you can preschedule these message, so one afternoon at the beginning of the year could be all the time it takes to come up with and schedule a full years worth of email “touches”.

Just remember that while every message may not appeal to your clients, as long as most of them are of value, you’ll keep most of your subscribers.

Email has been a great tool for us and using an autoresponder has made it easy to stay in contact with my list.

I’ve recently started using Eyejot’s video email/messaging system. I’m just hoping it improves in to a more robust autoresponder system as well.

Have you used or taken a look at this service and if so, what are your thoughts on video email?
