Spice up your yard signs

Marketing

I came across a post by Jim Lee at Knoxville Tennessee real estate blog on a new approach he’s taking towards his yard signs. It’s a great selling point, a way to stand out from your competition and develop stronger customer loyalty as they see you working hard to sell their property. I borrowed his photo (hope you don’t mind, Jim) so that you can see what I’m talking about:

This got me thinking about the other ways you could use a custom sign with your marketing:

  • Create a personalized neighborhood sign that you can reuse over and over, with a link to a single-page neighborhood website (on Squidoo, your own site, a separate domain, etc.)
  • Add your blog address and invite them to view a virtual tour or photogallery
  • Add in links to profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn, ActiveRain, etc. to draw in curious folks, and encourage them to connect with you in a low-pressure environment

These are just a couple ideas, but think about ways you can integrate them fully into your current marketing plan, and let them work harder for you.

Thanks again to Jim Lee, and his Knoxville Home Center team

So what exactly is a glowing floor? Sounds interesting! I do like the sign idea, but wonder if the implementation came at the cost of readability? This would just look like a blur from the car. Nice to see some different ideas though, keep up the good work!

I believe the implementation may come at the cost of readability from the street, but that’s part of what helps draw the person into the sign. Rather than just slowing down as they drive by, you catch their interest by having actual home pictures on the sign. So they stop to read more. It can also function as a flyer for the house if the paper flyers ever run out!

And I believe the glowing floors refer to the sparkling hardwood floors! :)

I think these are great thoughts! Adding URLs to a customized sign is a fantastic idea. Even if people driving by can’t see them, the sign still does it’s basic job with the pictures and phone numbers related to the Realtor. However, if people are getting out of their car to further inspect the yard signs, the URLs are a great way to drive traffic to sites you are on, and give people a more personalized feel for who you are and what type of Realtor you are. Past that, I think they aid in credibility of the source.

I came across this post searching for people marketing with yard signs and the benefits they’ve seen. I recently did a small study with custom yard signs I purchased from CamapignPros and found them a lot more useful than I think most people realize. Anyways, interesting post. Good Luck!
