The Big E Stands for Economy AND Enthusiasm
Thu, Oct 23, 2008
We all know the economy is unstable right now, and everyone is concerned. Home sales are down, people are worried about finances, etc. But if you let this nervous, negative attitude become part of your day to day reality, then you can be sure it will take a toll on your business.
People are still buying, and people are still selling. There are clients out there to be had. It’s just a matter of changing your marketing to focus on the person behind the property, and maintaining your enthusiasm for what you do. Your sellers want to know that you believe in their property, and are confident about working with them. Your buyers have decided they are ready, able and willing to make a purchase, and they want you to share their excitement, and focus on helping them make the right choices.
Nobody wants to work with a doom-and-gloom economist posing as a real estate professional, who is sure that at any moment the sky will fall on the real estate market.
Do whatever it takes to get excited about today. Work with the attitude that “Things are okay, and they’re going to get better”, and I’ll bet you find they do. As they say, surround yourself with people that share your enthusiasm and excitement for the future. Need some ideas?
- Call or send a card to someone that just got a new job or promotion (check your local business paper)
- Send congratulatory cards to everyone in the Wedding section of the newspaper
- Send cards or small gifts to parents in the “New Arrivals” section congratulating them
These are just a few ideas, but as you start to seek out the good things happening around you, you may be surprised at how much you find.
