I’m a big fan of Twitter, and love the concept of a Tweetup. I’ve talked about Tweetups before – for those who haven’t heard of them, Tweetups are a way of getting local Twitter users together for an event, so they can meet in person. Tweetups can be very casual – group of people meeting at a bar or restaurant. Or, they can be more planned, with organizers and sponsors, etc.
Either way, what a great way to really connect with another person! You gain that connection either by being Twitter users that find they’re in the same community, or community members who find that they share the interest in Twitter. Either way, you win by gaining connections and possibly more friends.
Today’s Web 2.0 Wrap-up comes from the MyTechOpinion blog – 10 Reasons to Tweetup and 10 Success Tips. @NikNik offers some really compelling reasons to participate in a Tweetup, but I really like her success tips. That’s often a fear with these kinds of events – that no one will come. So she gives some great ways to ensure your event is a success! Check out their blog post, then go looking for your own Tweetup!
