Weekend Web 2.0 Wrap-Up for 8/3
Sun, Aug 3, 2008
Are you feeling a little overwhelmed with all the possibilities, and potential time wasted, of social networking?
Today’s Web 2.0 post is a quick list of resources that can help streamline your social networking and make it more efficient and effective.
8aweek is a toolbar for Firefox users that allows you to track your time spent on certain sites. Find you’ve lost another hour on Facebook? 8aweek lets you set a timer for these distracting sites to send you a reminder once you’ve spent a certain amount of time there. You can also save interesting links for later, so you don’t get distracted now.
Use Twitter, but can’t always find time to get in and add posts? Try TweetAhead. Allows you to enter posts and have them posted from your Twitter account in the future. Great if you want to maintain activity on Twitter when you will be offline.
Jott “converts your voice into emails, text messages, reminders, lists and appointments”. You can post to Twitter via phone, “call” Zillow to have a Zestimate sent to you, add an event to your Google Calendar, or even post to your Wordpress or Blogger blog, all with your cell phone. You simply register your phone on their site at Jott.com, and then dial in an 800 number, and go from there. Check out the page for Jott Links on using the above services with Jott.
Taking a few minutes to add time-saving tools to your arsenal can save you lots of time (hours, even!) that you can dedicate to serving your clients, instead of trying to find them. Have you found a great tool that saves you time? I’d love to hear about it.
