Weekend Web 2.0 Wrap-Up for 9/7

Today’s Web 2.0 Wrap-Up is about demographics. Specifically, using demographics to better connect with your readers. When you write content for your website or blog, is it in a style that best connects you with your target market? Would you write differently if you knew it would help you connect better with the type of client you want to work with?

There’s an interesting post on using the style of your writing to match up with the demographics of your site visitors (or those you want visiting your site) at RSS Pieces on How to use demographics to craft real estate blog posts that target your readers.

Mary lists out the ways that writing styles should differ, depending on what demographic you are targeting. I think it’s something to keep in mind for all the writing you do, not just blog posts. Could changing the writing style of your ads change who reads them? Could a different “tone” in your social networking profiles be the key to making better connections?

I would really love to hear from someone that has seen a change in conversions or the quality of their visitors just by changing their writing style!
